Highland has a long history of providing woven industrial fabrics for the United States Military, general reinforcement, and various other specialized product applications. End uses for our woven products include specialized troop tents, tension structure cloth as well as fabrics used in various coated applications. We have the ability to produce both very open and extremely tightly woven base fabrics from a variety of yarn types.
Highland has a storied history providing materials for the United States Military. We manufactured the very first yard of filament Nomex® fabric used in pilot's flame resistant flyer’s jackets and are the sole provider of this fabric for this application. We also manufacture Kevlar® fabric used in the Army Combat Helmet (ACH), shell and liner greige goods for the Improved Outer Tactical Vest (I-OTV), Cordura® fabrics for use in the Army’s duffle bag, MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) backpack, and boot applications as well as specialized 725 denier textured Cordura® used in the Marine Corps ILBE (Improved Load-Bearing Equipment) backpack system.
For industrial applications, our woven fabrics are used as general reinforcement substrates for laminates and other coated applications. Cordura® textured nylon is used in outer shells for leisure products such as travel bags, back packs, hydration packs and golf bags. Industrial woven fabrics such as reinforcing substrates for abrasives further expand our woven product offering.
